Humanity faces considerable global challenges: climate change, the depletion of non-renewable resources, and the collapse of biodiversity. Our agricultural and food models must transform to become more resilient and sustainable.

To address these challenges, ITAB has set three main priorities for its 2022-2027 program:
• Strengthen the multi-performance and resilience of organic agri-food systems;
• Commit to improving the health of agricultural ecosystems and human health;
• Supporting the scaling up of organic farming and the transition of agriculture and food systems.

Strategic guidelines are validated and monitored at the levels of (i) the General Assembly and (ii) the Association Board.

Supported by its Scientific Council, ITAB's action program is implemented by its technical and scientific divisions: (i) Plants and Cultivated Biodiversity, (ii) Livestock, (iii) Inputs and Biosolutions, (iv) Quality and Processing, (v) Sustainability and Transitions, and (vi) COMET (Knowledge, Mediation, Transitions). Beyond project management, these divisions monitor their areas of intervention and ensure effective internal coordination between the various actions. In 2023, ITAB's portfolio consisted of 42 projects, including six Horizon Europe projects.
With several projects having recently come to an end, a special effort was made in 2023 to set up national and European projects. These efforts were crowned with success, with 15 projects selected and a success rate of 71%. These figures testify to the expertise, dynamism, and commitment of the team.
